The management team
Philippe Poutignat
Founder & Chairman
20 years of experience in software engineering, flight simulation and 3D graphics. In addition to his responsibilities as a Chairman, he also drives research and software development. Prior to funding Visioglobe, Philippe spent 12 years at Thales Training Simulation to develop all advanced visual effects for Image Generators and offered consultancy in 3D real-time image generation during 8 years for big companies.
Philippe enjoys choir singing, piano playing, tennis, swimming, skiing, gliding and paragliding.
Eric Bernard
CEO & Co-Founder
After Airplane studies, a Business School and an MBA, Eric started to work as an Oracle Consultant for major companies in Europe, such as EA Sports, Atari, Michelin, Gemplus. He then joined SQLI, a Software service company in France, as an Account manager and finally worked for a leading web agency in Europe: Fi-System, as a South East France Director. He met Philippe in 2007 and decided to move on Visioglobe challenge.
Eric is a fan of all activities related to water: wakeboard, under water fishing and scuba diving. If not in the water he’s in the air with some hours piloting and fond of aerobatics. On the ground he likes rugby and active player of the 3rd semi time!
Hector Briceño
VP Engineering
MIT PhD ‘97 ‘97 ‘03 and Engineer with technical knowledge in 3D Graphics, Operating Systems, Networking, and Mobile Devices and experience with start-ups.
His academic, teaching, tri-lingual and multi-cultural experience allows him to communicate well, to understand the customer needs and to work with diverse teams to create great products.
Hector enjoys doing mountaineering, backcountry skiing, trail running, and ice climbing on his free time.
Cédric Manzoni
Software Engineer and Information Officer
In charge of 3D developments for mobile application, Cedric handles also 3D data processing and optimization.
He graduated from ENSIMAG, one of the top French engineering schools.
Before joining Visioglobe he held a position at INRIA, the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science, as a R&D Engineer.
A big fan of badminton, Cedric also knows an awful lot of Belgian beers!
Ulrich Roissard
Software architect
A Master 2 in Research in Image and Language Engineering, his research training oriented and then his work in virtual reality and hardcore drivers development, gave Ulrich a good view of high-level applications design in terms of software architecture.
He coordinates software development in the team to take advantage of everyone skills.
Ulrich spends a lot of time singing (lyric singing and choir singing). During summer he takes a backpack and goes on hike for weeks in the wilderness of mountain tops.
History
The Visioglobe® project was created by Philippe Poutignat in 2006. Visioglobe won twice the French National Contest for Innovative Companies which confirmed the company’s innovation potential. As a result, Visioglobe received funding to develop R&D activities.
Philippe Poutignat went into partnership with Eric Bernard and co-founded Visioglobe with him at the end of 2007.
Visioglobe has been rated the best start up of the year 2008 (Best Innov 2008) and best tourism innovation (Tourism@ Awards 2008).
