Mecca, a unique world sacred place, welcomes close to 15 million people every year. The area and the number of pilgrims, despite visa limitations, make traffic difficult and navigation hazardous.
The privileged partnership between Visioglobe and Navibees made it possible to answer the most sacred mosque of Islam’s quandary: help each visitor find their way with ease.
The application was launched in June 2016 with the sole objective of helping find their way within the Masjid al-Haram Mosque in the centre of the Holy City. This choice of Mecca and Navibees was dictated by the quality of the maps and the accuracy of the cartographic elements. Realised with VisioMapEditor, the extruded 2D made it possible to obtain a lightweight map; a deciding factor. The card was then brought onto VisioMove for smartphone visualisation (iOS & Android): https://youtu.be/8nxtJ3RjYrI
Taking strength from an effective V1, Mecca confirms its satisfaction with demand for a V2. The goal: Pleasure for the eyes and faithful representation of locations. Visioglobe was able to achieve a real graphic prowess. Indeed, the internally designated 3D models render a proper representation of buildings and sculptures. For example, the outer pillars or the Ka’ba mirror reality for the greater satisfaction of pilgrims. Cartographic standard codes can still be found on the map.
Provides the pilgrims with a realistic, beautiful and impressive universe. A great success!!
