Points of interest (POIs) and IDs
POIs are items you will interact with on the map, everything you can click to have more information, set as initial or arrival point. Every item on the map can become a POI as long as you give it a unique "ID".
An ID is the unique identification number for each POI. Composed only by numbers and letters and very few special characters ( “-”, “_” and “.”). They are the key link between graphic element and app’s functionalities.
To add an ID, select an element and, on the left menu, write it on the “ID” field.
Texts : labels vs legends
A legend and a label serve different purposes.
A legend displays static text, which is typically used for naming elements that remain unchanged, such as street names. These names remain constant and do not change over time.
A label is a dynamic text that links the ID of a POI to its name. When an area is named in the CMS or through the Content tab, this name will appear in the final application.
Unlike a legend, a label can change based on updates made in the CMS, making it a flexible and adaptable component.
To generate a label, click on a POI that has an ID on it. Then, on the left panel, click on “Label”. A red box will appear on the surface, and will display the ID of the POI. Once you put a name for this POI in the Content tab, this name will appear in a blue box on MapEditor. It will also be shown in the final application.
